I take my inspiration from Aboriginal art, looking particularly at the patterns created through their use of individual lines and the seemingly unrefined finishes of their early work. My pieces are well-designed with a high-quality finish, giving a stylish, graceful look. They are also intended to have the same feel of rawness I see in my Aboriginal inspiration. I create my pieces using silver wire, texturing each strand individually enabling light to play on the surfaces differently.
The finished pieces are developed using the filigree technique and the microwelder to build up forms. I aspire to create both sculptural and wearable jewellery using these techniques and inspirations.
