My current work takes inspiration from pod like forms such as jelly fish, body cells and bubble coral. I use glass to create these bubble forms in the kiln, firing to 820 degrees centigrade, the glass expands to look as though it has been blown, letting the glass take its own form and concentrating on the fluidity and organic shape that it creates. Patterns taken from the jelly fish markings are used to decorate the bubbles, I experiment with lines and circles and let the weight of these additions on the glass surface alter the overall shape, this adds to the organic unpredictability of the process. . .
